Taras Defense Services was founded by Dr. Andrew Vavreck, who brought over four decades of experience in defense research and development, management, and education. His most recent position was with a large defense contractor, where he served as a Principal Mechanical Engineer and Deputy Program Manager. In his tenure there he worked in modeling and simulation and systems engineering in domains including Electronic Warfare, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Aircraft Survivability Equipment, and radar systems. Most recently, alongside his technical duties, he managed over a dozen on-site technical staff, served as hiring manager, technically monitored subcontracts, and managed the program's information portal and deliverables. Dr. Vavreck also strongly supported business development through proposal technical and quality volume management; technical writing; solution development; as a systems engineering, mechanical engineering, and modeling and simulation SME; and as a color team reviewer.
